Sarah Melissa Braswell, 47 of Elkins passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Fayetteville. She was born November 14, 1976, in Springdale to Bobby J. Braswell and Susan (Triska) Braswell. Sarah loved the outdoors. She loved gardening, flowers, hiking and camping just to name a few. She was very passionate about playing the piano. She had a big heart. She would open her door when others would close theirs.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fannie and John Triska and Homer Ray and Bobbie Ruth Braswell and three uncles, Gary Wayne Braswell, George Allen Braswell, and Michael Ray Braswell.
Survivors include her children, Morgan Braswell, and Mason Braswell both of Elkins; parents, Bobby and Susan Braswell of Elkins; sister, Amy Braswell of Fayetteville; brother, Christopher Braswell of Elkins; aunt, Barbara Cornelius of Willow Springs, MO; foster daughter, Madison DeJohn and numerous cousins, other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 11AM – 1PM at the community building at McCord Cemetery. A graveside service will follow at 1PM with Pastor Rex Eaton officiating.
The burial will be at McCord cemetery. The pallbearers will be Solomon Cornelius, Aaron Cornelius, Bryant Reed and Mason Braswell. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Glenn Pollock. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
