Donald Lee Cryder

Donald “Don” Lee Cryder, 79 of Elkins passed away, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at his home. He was born February 20, 1939 in Sperry, OK to Glenn Cryder and Grace Long-Cryder.

Don enjoyed old cars and attending car shows raising money for children all over. He was a truck driver for many years. He owned and operated Don’s Heating and air for 20 yrs and served the City of Elkins as Planning Commissioner and code enforcement for 11 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Cryder and sister, Glenna Herron.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Sharon Thorpe-Cryder of the home; children, Nora House and David Daniels both of Rogers, Tony Julian of Oklahoma, Kellie Allison and husband Darrell of Rogers, Donnie Cryder and James Thorpe both of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Michael, LeAnda, Samantha, Cory, Aaron, Madelyn, Misty, Kyle, Zach, Jacob and Nick; fourteen great grandchildren and several other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Crystal Hills Family Fellowship in Elkins. A funeral service will be 10AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the church with Rev. Jasper Hankins officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Elkins.
