J.E. (Ed) Johnson, 86 of Huntsville, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born June 27, 1933 in Snyder, TX to Emanuel Johnson and Neva Neal Blair-Johnson.
Ed lived in the Kingston and Huntsville area since 1969. He was an oil well driller and a welder in Texas. He was a friend to many in Texas and Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Johnson; 8 brothers, Monroe, Lonnie, B.Q., Allen, Darrell, Billy Jay, Raymond Ray, and Arthur and 2 sisters, Beatrice and Daisy.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Eddie Bea Compton-Johnson; 2 children, Jimmy Johnson and wife April, Janice Howell and husband Harold Dean; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Howell, Misty Howell-Mitchell, Stacey Carlson, Derrek Collins, Kimberly Johnson, James Dylan Johnson, Alisha Johnson, Blair Cook, Sara Chapman, and Daisy Newman; 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-4PM, Sunday December 1, 2019 in the Chapel of Madison County Funeral Service at Huntsville. A Funeral Service will be held 2PM Monday at Marble Baptist Church with Brother Dwain Houston and Brother Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Big Sandy Cemetery.
