James Carroll Sparks

James Carroll Sparks, 71 of Fayetteville was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He was born April 14, 1946 in Red Star, Arkansas to Richard Doy Sparks and Bertha Friend-Sparks.

James was enlisted in the Army Reserve from 1965-1971 in Harrison, Arkansas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 21 years. He was a mason contractor and built many homes and businesses across the Northwest Arkansas area for many years. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially all of his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arold Sparks and Troy Sparks.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Vicki Sparks of the home; two sons, James Sparks and wife Laura of Prairie Grove and Matthew Sparks and wife Brittany of Wesley; daughter, Cindy Sparks-Croom and husband Charlie of Fayetteville; two sisters, Orphea Wyatt and Dorothy Samuels; two brothers, Wesley Sparks and Clyde Sparks; five grandchildren, Katelyn Sparks, Clayton Croom, Brinkley Sparks, Isaac Sparks and Gracie Sparks along with many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Monday, January 29, 2018 at Crystal Hills Family Fellowship Church in Elkins. A funeral service will be 10am, Tuesday at the church with Pastor Jasper Hankins officiating. Burial will follow at McCord Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Elkins. Pallbearers will be Richard Sparks, Wesley Sparks, Brent Edgmon, Joey Eiland, Phillip Chandler and Brandon Morgan.
