Ben Hall Collins Sr.

Ben Hall Collins Sr. was born Sunday, September 9, 1923 at Witter, AR to Harrison and Rosie Collins. Dad left this world on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Huntsville, AR at the age of 101.

Dad had known Mom since they were very young. Friendship grew into love, and they were married on January 5, 1951. They raised three children: Jackie, Ben Jr, and Richard. 

He loved working as a logger in Washington for approximately twenty years, Later, Dad was a dairy and beef farmer for forty-five years on a farm located near Holman Creek and War Eagle in Madison County. He enjoyed working with cattle and horses, especially horses. Ol’ Pestle was a favorite horse, and the two traveled many miles together. 

He was converted at the Marble United Baptist Church where the Reverend Harold Duvall was the pastor. Dad was a member of the Christian Union Church. He enjoyed reading his Bible and gospel singing. 

Dad was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Jewell Johnson Collins, daughter Jackie Diane Collins and sons Ben Hall Collins Jr. and Richard Wyatt Collins. Also surviving him are three sisters: Sarah Peterson, Ethel Taylor and Melba Collins. 

A private memorial is planned, with Pastor Evon Walden directing the service. Pallbearers are Richard Collins, Jonathan Keith, Johnny Walker, Michael Elsey, Larry Johnson, David Johnson, and Kenny Harris.

Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Johnson and Dale Johnson.

Services are entrusted to Madison County Funeral Service.

Family and Friends are invited to come to the Funeral Home at 4373 S Main Street Hindsville, AR 72738 after 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2025  to sign the register book.
