Brenda Joyce DuRell

Brenda Joyce DuRell, age 74, of Wesley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at her cherished home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 16, 1948, in Winslow, Arkansas, to the late Ira Drummond and Mary (Wilson) Drummond.

Brenda's life was a testament to her selflessness and unwavering care for others. She had a heart that was always ready to help and support, tirelessly working to solve any problem that came her way. Her empathy and kindness knew no bounds, making her a beacon of compassion in the lives of those she touched.

Together with her devoted husband, Thomas, Brenda co-owned and operated DuRell Pools for many years. Their dedication and hard work built not only a business but a legacy of excellence and community service.

Brenda's devotion extended beyond her professional life. She was a beloved wife of 58 years to Thomas Ray DuRell. Brenda's love and nurturing were felt deeply by her family, including her siblings: Anita Osburn, Judy Lawhorn (Robert), Kathleen Hughes, Pete Drummond (Willa Dean), Sue Bates, and sister-in-law Peggy Drummond.

Brenda's memory lives on in the hearts of her children: Melissa Burnett (Larry), Jeff DuRell (Angela), Patty Neal (David), and Tommy DuRell. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren: Thomas Bennett, Jennifer Korosec, Jonathan Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Carol Burnett, Aspen DuRell, Jamica DuRell, Huntyr DuRell, Michael DuRell, Dylan Lawson, Ashley Thornberry, Kaitlyn Ferguson, Jessica Shipman, Andrea Neal, Bobbie Webb, Nicholas Baird, Gavin DuRell, and Rosemarie DuRell along with 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Curtis Drummond and Jerry Drummond; brothers-in-law, James Osburn and Paul Hughes; and one daughter, Joetta Meda-Gonzalez.

The family will come together to honor Brenda's memory in a private memorial service to be held at 586 Madison 6061 Wesley, AR 72773 on September 8, 2023, at 5pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.

"Princess" Brenda Joyce DuRell will forever be remembered for her boundless love, her nurturing spirit, and her genuine care for all those fortunate enough to have known her. May her soul find eternal peace.
