Candice Peters Obituary

Candice Ann (Best) Peters, 73 , passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Fayetteville surrounded by family. She was born January 28, 1951, at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin, Kansas. Family was always Candice’s number one priority, and everything she did was for those she loved. Candice loved homeschooling her children and being a mom to numerous foreign exchange students over the years. She enjoyed learning about their culture and lives and loved them as her own. Candice wrote Bible studies for over 30 years to help others grow closer to God. She used God’s word to counsel many friends and family members. Candice was also a fun-loving person, always up for an adventure. She loved canning, kayaking, floating down rivers, going out to eat and driving in the countryside. She had a beautiful smile and a laugh that would light up a room. She had an amazing sense of humor. She never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. We will all miss her very much

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Arlene Best; brother, David Lee Best and grandparents Ivan and Mamie Best and Vernon and Ellen Hurlbut.

She is survived by Bill Peters, the father of her six children, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

1) Lynn and her husband Stuart Presley, their children Tristan and Calista, and her daughter Ruby Soul Perkins

2) Karma Smith and her children, Macy and Andrew

3) Cassandra Peters and her children, Noah and Ava

4) Heather Peters and her son, Bentley

5) William and his wife Sara Peters, and their children, Zhr, Ali, Mia, and Joseph
