Carol Ann Craun Tillery, born January 22, 1945 in Angola, Indiana, passed on to be with our Lord and Savior July 19, 2021. Carol grew up on a dairy farm in northern Indiana and moved with her family to Madison County in 1963. She had a degree in art education, but chose to stay home as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loving supporter of her husband Mike in all his endeavors for 52 years.
Mike and Carol were married on June 3, 1969 after meeting at Elkins Community Church and conducting their courtship while fishing on the White River. They honeymooned in N. California while Mike worked for the US Forest Service and continued schooling through correspondence.
They lived at their current home on the family farm for two years, up on Pinnacle Mountain for 8 years, then back to family farm at Thompson where they have resided ever since.
Carol was a talented artist, blessing others through her artwork, and a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Ozarks. She greatly encouraged others through the dedicated writing of old-fashioned letters. Most importantly, she constantly prayed for others and their needs, while walking in relationship with Jesus Christ from a very young age.
She leaves a legacy through husband, Mike Tillery; son and daughter in law Roy and Gwen Tillery; grandchildren: Elaina and Milas Hudspeth, Christian and Taylor Tillery, Ayden Tillery, William Tillery and Samuel Tillery; and great grandson Ambrose Hudspeth.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to give in memorial to honor Carol’s heart for others and desire to share her Hope in Christ both close to home and in far away places, gifts can be directed to:
