Carroll D. “Bub” Woods of Joplin, Mo. crossed the river on January 13, 2026 where he had longed to go for the past several months due to a battle with cancer. Born January 27, 1946 in Alabam, Ar. to Cecil Woods and Lillian Roberts. He served his family until he went home and is now serving his savior.
Bub was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents; Carson and Elvie Roberts and Loss and Eula Woods; brother, Parker Woods; sister, Tammy Woods-Morrison, and 2 baby girls Angela and Sherry Woods.
Bub is survived by his wife Jan of 45 years; daughters Pamela Easley of Alabam and Lillian Woods of Joplin, Mo.; sons, Billy Woods of St Louis, Mo. Ray Woods of Joplin, Mo. Wade Woods of Jefferson City, Mo; brothers, Greg (Kim) Woods of Clifty, Ar., Tim (Donna) Evans of Huntsville, Ar.; sisters, Karen (Gerald) Kelley of Eureka Springs, Ar. Carlene (Jeremy) Ramsey; grandchildren, Randall Spielman, Carson Woods, Cameron Woods, Woods, Audrey Nix, Erica Jordan, Corbin Roach, Dixie Woods; great grand children, Levi Howell, Carli Yates, Chris, R.J. and Aubree Spielman, Brian and Jackson Jordan, Lenora Woods, Jasper Woods, Caise Hardin, Parker & Heston Roach, Adalynn Rupe, Nevaeh and Miyah Noehl; great great grandchildren, Brent, Carl Claire and Timber Yates.
His life was full of adventures, he and Jan traveled to several states engaging in jobs ranging from running a 400 momma cow ranch to working as a superintendent for a construction company building roads in subdivisions in Austin, Texas. Bub had his own dozer business building roads, house and chicken house pads, commercial pads as well. He owned a dairy operation, chicken houses, stock cattle farm and a western store. He was the driving force in Jan being an owner of a successful beauty salon, she would have never taken the chance. Bub was called a mover and shaker by some family members.
He gave his life to the Lord later on in life but was determined to encourage others to do the same. He worked as head of security at Risen Ranch Cowboy Church in Joplin where he was a member for several years. He asks that a repentance sermon be given at his funeral because he wanted others to have what he had.
Pallbearers will be Carl Ray Woods, Billy Wayne Woods, Randall Wayne Spielman, Clint Jordan, Brad Holt and Ray Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Houston, Bub Houston, Harlin Houston, Greg Woods, Brian Spielman, Jack Wilson, Denton Fancher, and Robert Pitts.
The family will receive visitors Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. at the Community Church of Forum. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2026 in the Community Church of Forum with Justin Harris Officiating. Graveside held at Alabam Cemetary with dinner to follow at Community Church of Forum, 4114 Highway 127 Huntsville, Ar.
