Charles Harmon Obituary

Charles Henry Harmon, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 75. Born on October 28, 1949, in Huntsville, Arkansas, Charles was a lifelong resident of the area who cherished the community he called home.

The son of Woodrow Wilson Harmon and Mary Ruth Thomas, Charles was raised in a loving household where he developed his strong moral compass and unyielding work ethic. He attended Huntsville Public Schools, where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and family values.

In his early years, Charles displayed a deep sense of duty and commitment to his country by joining the Army, where he proudly served and was honorably discharged. His military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and responsibility that he carried into all aspects of his life.

On September 19, 1986, Charles married the love of his life, Carol Jean Harmon, with whom he shared a beautiful life for 38 years until her passing on December 2, 2024. Together, they built a loving family and created countless memories that will forever be cherished. They were partners in every sense, supporting each other through life's ups and downs, and their love story remains an inspiration to all who knew them.

Professionally, Charles was a skilled First Forger for over 40 years and also devoted 55 years to farming, where his love for the land and raising cattle flourished. He took immense pride in his work, and his contributions to the agricultural community were recognized through his membership in the Arkansas Cattle Association. Beyond his work, Charles found respite in nature; he enjoyed fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with the great outdoors.

A man of strong faith, Charles was an active member of Living Water Baptist Church in Huntsville, Arkansas, where he found solace and community.

A dedicated family man, Charles is survived by his daughter, Angelia Sevak (Mike) of Bentonville, Arkansas, who has been a source of pride and joy in his life. He also leaves behind two brothers, Butch Harmon (Deb) of Alabam, Arkansas, and Danny Harmon (Kathy) of Springdale, Arkansas, as well as two sisters, Carolyn Shackelford (Lonnie) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Wanda Sue McCoy of Alabam, Arkansas. Charles was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Robby Lee, Jamie Lepior, Hayden Sevak and Emilee Sevak and three great-grandchildren, Jenna Lee, William Lepior and Audrey Lee all of whom brought immense joy to his life and whom he adored deeply.  He also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 12:00pm at Living Water Baptist Church in Huntsville, Arkansas.  A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 1:00pm at Living Water Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Alabam Cemetery with Military Honors.
