Donald Edgar Smith

Donald Edgar Smith “Big Bird” age 70 of Berryville passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at his home. He was born October 10, 1955 in Harrison, Arkansas to William Lawrence Smith and Rosemary (Woodell) Smith.

Donnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved sharing his passion for fishing with others. He shared his joy by teaching loved ones to bait a hook and cast a line. He was always seen wearing his fishing hat and had a pole in hand.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, David, Dewayne and Darrell and sister, Kathy.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Kandis (Watson) Smith, daughters, Dawnel Bilderback and husband, Kenny; Michelle Garcia and husband, Gonzalo; Jaren Dierking and husband, Jeff; Jill Corbin and husband, Robert; son, Jason Emery; sisters, Merry Smith and husband, Mike; Jena Ferrell, Lisa Todd and husband, Allen; Cindy Leftwich and husband, Bill; Angela Coughenour and husband, Brent; brothers, Davey Thomas, Lynn Thomas and George Thomas; sister in law, Beverly Smith; eight grandchildren, Jalisha, Haiden, Hannah, Eddie, Kaylee, Destiny, Kurtis, Kash; six great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews that he adored greatly.

The family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date. He will be buried at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, MO with family present. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service.
