Donald G. Smith, 86 of Huntsville passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born April 12, 1938 in Purdy, Arkansas to Walter S. Smith and Dora (Hargis) Smith. He had a passion for raising, training and riding horses, in particular Missouri Foxtrotters as well as making knives for family and friends. He was a member of the Kings River Riding Club and faithfully attended the Marble United Baptist Church. He had a deep love for the Lord and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Coy Smith, Arvil Smith, Bessie Middleton, Lillian Binam, Irene Carter, Ida Faye McDaniel, Oneida Shaffer; son, Larry Smith; great grandson, Hunter Smith; stepson, Randy Smith and son in law, Randy Watkins.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Evelyn Smith of the home; son, Jimmy Smith and wife Tammy of Seabeck, WA; daughter, Cindy Watkins of Wharton Creek; sister, Mary Galvan of Forum; daughter in law, Linda Smith of Marble; grandchildren, Travis Smith, Jeremey Watkins and Brandy Curtis; great grandchildren, Toby, Faith, Ty, Taci, Chase, Tripp, Adelynn and Maxx; step children, Kathy Robertson and husband Kearny and Theresa Brazell both of Brookhaven, MS and Raymond Smith and wife Jetta and Reggie Smith and wife Trudy both of Louisiana and numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A visitation will be from 10-11AM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at the Marble United Baptist Church and funeral service will follow at 11AM with Pastor Coy Siegrist officiating. Burial will be at Lower Campground cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Travis Smith, Raymond Smith, Jeremey Watkins, Tony Galvan, Robbie Sinclair and Jerry Hargis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alvin Reynolds, Michael Porter, Leo Bowen and John Scholz. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
