Dovie McBride Obituary

Dovie was born on January 5, 1935, in Deridder, Louisiana, to Cecil and Edna Sanders Deans. She lived a rich and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

She enjoyed reading, particularly the Bible, and found great joy in crocheting. Dovie was also a homemaker and played an essential role in helping her husband with their farming endeavors, embodying the spirit of dedication and hard work.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. She married the love of her life, John McBride, and together they shared 58 beautiful years before his passing in 2011. Dovie's heart was forever intertwined with John's, and their love created a foundation for their family that will last for generations.

Throughout her life, Dovie was a beacon of light and a true child of God, walking with unwavering faith and a commitment to her beliefs. She was known for her kindness and her passion for sharing her faith, often witnessing to everyone she came in contact with. Her commitment to her faith was further demonstrated through her active membership at Crossroads Apostolic Church, where she fostered a deep sense of community and friendship.

She is preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, Cecil and Geneva Deans, one son, Johnny McBride, one sister, Marie Cooper, and her brother Billy Deans. 

Dovie entered into eternal rest at her home in Huntsville, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 90.

Dovie's love for her family was profound; she cherished every moment spent with them, and her home was a sanctuary of love and warmth. She is survived by her two sons Matthew (Donna) McBride of Huntsville, Arkansas, Mark (Julie) McBride of Gilford, New Hampshire, two grandchildren, Emma McBride of Gilford, New Hampshire and Michael McBride of Bartlett, Tennessee and two great-grandchildren, Elan and Jillian McBride of Bartlett, Tennessee who will carry on her legacy of love and faith.

A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 12:00PM at Crossroads Apostolic Church, located at 125 Madison 2306 in Huntsville, Arkansas.  A Funeral Service will be held at on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 1:00PM at Crossroads Apostolic Church.  Burial will be at Sparks Cemetery in Huntsville, Arkansas.
