Edgar Murrell Obituary

Edgar Ray Murrell, 84 of Kingston went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his home. He was born March 12, 1942, in Springdale, Arkansas to Roy Andrew Murrell and Edith Viola (Reed) Murrell. Ed Loved the Lord and loved to tell others about Jesus. He was a member of Gospel of Peace Tabernacle Church in Springdale. Ed worked with his older brother, Kenneth in a house moving business when he was younger and was a truck driver for years. He also retired from Kingston Schools as a maintenance man. Ed loved his family. He loved his stepmother, Ella Murrell, that helped his father raise him. He tried to teach all his children and grandchildren about Jesus. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jaye Edgar; daughter, Rayella Mays; great granddaughter, Kelsey Whitely and brothers, Kenneth, Roy Jr., Everette and Melvin and sister, Thelma Harbison.

He is survived by his wife, Sharron Laughter Murrell; two sons, John Jacob and wife Misty and Kenneth (K.Roy) of Kingston; grandchildren, Sharron Ann, John Edgar, Kenny Ray, Monica, Kenneth, Zakkory, Jacob and Dylan; twenty-four great grandchildren and sister, Barabra Corter and sister-in-Law, Muriel Murrell.

A visitation will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the chapel of the Madison County Funeral Service located 4373 S. Main St., Hindsville. A funeral service will be in the chapel Friday at 2PM with Rev. Ray Main, Wayne Rizley, and Donald Corter officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Murrell Family Cemetery in Kingston. Pallbearers will be John Edgar Kaye, Kenny Ray Kaye, Jacob Murrell, Dylan Murrell, Kenneth Murrell, Zakkory Murrell and Markise Kaye. Flowerbearers will be great grandkids at the cemetery, Aimsley, Markise, Faustina, Gabriella, Ray, Mallina, Emmy, Ella, John Wayne, Courage, Lauren Grace, Lilly, Sebastian, Kaulder, Arya, Triston, Raylynn, Mayson and seven more of Kenny and Samantha’s Children.
