Garland Jay Bryant, a man of remarkable kindness and a lifelong resident of Madison County, Arkansas, passed away at the age of 82 on October 28, 2025, in Springdale, Arkansas at Circle of Life Hospice House. Born on May 21,1943, in Venus, Arkansas, Garland lived a life marked by devotion to his family, passion for the great outdoors, and a legacy of hard work and community involvement.
Garland's life was one of service and skill. He retired from Went Sonis Tool Manufacturing and then started installing poultry equipment, a trade that was integral to the agricultural community in Arkansas. His work was not just a job but a testament to his dedication to excellence and his contribution to the region's economy.
An avid outdoorsman, Garland found solace and joy in being outside, whether it was hunting in the quiet woods or fishing in the serene streams. These activities were not just hobbies but a reflection of his appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures of life.
In addition to his love for nature, Garland was a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he forged lifelong friendships and upheld the values of brotherhood, truth, and charity. His involvement with the Masonic Lodge was a source of great pride and fulfillment, and his brothers there will remember him as a man of integrity.
Those who knew Garland best would describe him as a quiet and kind man. His kindness was not just a trait but a way of life that touched everyone he met. He approached life with a gentle demeanor, a ready smile, and an open heart, making a lasting impact on his family, friends, and community.
Garland was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sharon Evans Bryant, who passed away on August 25, 2020, and by his parents, Lonnie Bryant and Lucy Keck Bryant, four brothers, Boyd Bryant, Delmar Bryant, Otto Bryant, and Eddie Bryant, and three sisters, Vada Acery, Gertie Burnett, and Jean Tripp.
Survivors include one son, Vincent (Brenda) Bryant of Springdale, Arkansas. His memory will also be cherished by two brothers, Jerry (Twila) Bryant of Venus, Arkansas, Porter Bryant of Huntsville, Arkansas, one sister, Ann Christian of Harrison, Arkansas, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews all of whom will miss his presence.
Visitation will be held at 11:30AM on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Venus Cemetery, Venus, Arkansas with Graveside Services following at 12:00PM with Chance Bryant Officiating. Pallbearers will be Chance Bryant, Eric Christian, Matt Shepard, Marty Shepard and Lance Eubanks.
Arrangements are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service, Hindsville, Arkansas.
