Gary Neal McChristian, 57, of Wesley, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born on July 9, 1967, in Huntsville to Harvey McChristian and Mary Elizabeth Rose McChristian. He was a graduate of Huntsville High School where he excelled in football, being awarded as an All-State Running Back and KURM’s Dream Team in football excellence. After high school he served his country in the Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was later proudly reinstated to serve in Operation Desert Storm. Gary was an avid biker and could often be found on his Harley Heritage riding free with the wind in his hair and the sun at his back. He was a friend to all who desired one and a fierce protector to any who required one. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson fishing, hunting, biking, and just hanging out. His smile is forever on our faces and his laugh resounds eternally in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his two daughters, Kayla Locke and Candace McChristian, both of Fayetteville; brothers, Jerry and Marilyn McChristian of Alabam and Bill McChristian of Japton; sisters, Kathy and Wayne Ledbetter of Japton, Betty Howard of Springdale, Linda and David Gifford of Springdale; one grandchild, Liam McChristian of Fayetteville; best friend and companion, Donna McChristian of Fayetteville and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private interment with military honors will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
