Henry Thomas Scates Jr

Henry Thomas Scates Jr, 60 of Springdale passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Northwest Medical Center. He was born on November 9, 1964, in Springdale to Henry Thomas Scates Sr and Shirley Mae (Taylor) Scates.

He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1984. He was a welder for JV manufacturing in Springdale and also worked for Kenny Signs in Springdale. 

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Truly Scates and Sam and Zelma Taylor; brother, Terry Scates and uncles, Hershell Scates and Hayden Scates.

Survivors include his parents, Henry Thomas Scates Sr and Shirley Scates both of Huntsville, children, Holly McGarrah and husband Matt of Marble, Henry “Tommy” Scates III and wife Amber of Huntsville and Hailey Clouse and husband Cody of Elkins; grandchildren, Grace McGarrah and fiancé Robert Becan, Keaton Scates and Harley, Jayden Scates, Kelsey Scates, Charleigh Hefner, Landon Pickron, Preslee Scates, Heath Clouse and Aspen Clouse; great grandson, Rayland Scates; Aunt, Judy Woodell; cousins, Bobby Herrington and wife Gina, Tonny Herrington and wife Joanna, Christy Scates and Brook Scates and wife Heather and a host of other family members and many friends. 

A funeral service will be held, 11Am, Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Hindsville Chapel located 4373 S. Main St, Hindsville. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will immediately follow at Marshall Cemetery in Forum. Afterwards, the family will be hosting a reception back at the Hindsville Chapel. Pallbearers will be: Bobby Herrington, Tony Herrington, Keaton Scates, Jayden Scates, Robert Becan and Stephen Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Henry "Tommy" Scates III,  Cody Clouse and Matt McGarrah.
