Ike Evans, 70 of Hindsville passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 in Hindsville. He was born June 8, 1953 in Hindsville to Calvin Evans and Lola (Gosvener) Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Calvin Drew Evans and Bobby Evans; sister, Mary Ann Davis; four grandchildren, Toby Jackson, James Jackson, Brandon Sage and Tonya Jackson and great grandson, Clyde Carr.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Cleta (Brannon) Evans of the home; children, Ethan Evans, Tommy Evans, Spencer Evans, Gracie Taber, Mackenna Hill, and Bentley Taber all of the home, Latonya Jackson and husband James of Hindsville, Amanda Evans of Wesley, Melissa Hathorn of Hindsville, Stephanie and T.J Jackson of Garfield, Sandy Hawkins and husband Bobby of Springdale, Justin Evans of Wesley, Tasha St. Clair of Hindsville, and Savannah Evans and spouse Chase McNamara of Hindsville; three brothers, Addie Evans of Hindsville, Cheyenne Evans of Hindsville and Darrell Moppin and wife Imogene of Springdale; sister, Connie Whittle and husband Larry of Nob Hill; thirty-four grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren with three on the way and several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-8PM, Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Hindsville First Baptist Church. A funeral service will be 11AM, Saturday at the church with Pastor James Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Colbough Cemetery. Funeral services are under the directions of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
Pallbearers at the church will be Latonya Jackson, Amanda Evans, Melissa Hathorn, Stephanie Jackson, Sandy Hawkins, Tasha St. Clair, and Arial Jackson.
Pallbearers at the cemetery will be Addie Evans, Cheyenne Evans, Sam Evans, Willard Evans, Tommy Cheatum, Brian Passmoore, Tyler Jackson, Mac Beeler, and Alan Harris.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ethen Evans, Tommy Evans, Draven Evans, Izick Thacker, Levy Beeler, Malachi Swadley, Kenny Tyree, and Nate Obenshain.
