James Richard Fennell Jr., 63 of Elkins, Ar. formerly of West Middlesex, Pa passed away Monday, August 24,2020 at his home. He was born March 26, 1957 in Sharon, Pa. to James Fennell Sr. and Loretta Wilcox Thurman. James grew up with his mother and sister Sherry, hunting and playing sports (baseball, basketball, track, bowling, swim team and football on Sundays at the park in Hermitage and West Middlesex, Pa. His favorite hunting included duck, geese, grouse, deer, rabbit and pheasant. His favorite fishing included river trout, walleye, crappie, muskie and rock bass. He remained an avid and wise outdoorsman until the last.
James was a dedicated Steelers fan and remained so when he moved to Cowboy country at the age of 20. In Dallas, Texas he was successful property manager for multi-million-dollar developers and was a self-proclaimed connoisseur of women until meeting his wife Sabrina. James and Sabrina moved to Lakewood, Co in 1987. There James was a successful elk hunter and businessman, he worked for M.I.S.C before opening his own business, O.S.I. James and Sabrina were married in 1989 and he always said he spent the best years of his life married with two beautiful daughters.
James moved to Elkins, Ar. with family in 1998 where he went into business as a landscaper, raised his two daughters together with his wife and enjoyed hunting whitetails and finding antiques. In his later years he became a member of Cross Church in Rogers, Ar. He enjoyed sharing stories of hunting and fishing with his friends and family and spending time with his two grandchildren.
James is survived by his loving wife, Sabrina Fennell; two daughters, Jordan Fennell-Bohannan (Cole) and Taylor Fennell; two grandchildren, Farrah and William all of NW Arkansas; bonus mom, Joyce Fennell; sisters, Sherry Winger(Joe), Tracy Fazekas(Kemp) and Terry Foster(Roy); brother in law, R. Scott Gill all of Pennsylvania; brother, Randy Hibler(Miriam) of Ohio and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Fennell Sr. and mother, Loretta Thurman; sisters, Brenda, Joyce and Tammy Gill; great nieces, Layla and Hope and a grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in James’ name to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. A private celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date. Friends may sign a guestbook at www.madisoncountyfuneralservice.com
