Jo Ann Napper 93 of Fayetteville passed away on April 2, 2023. She was born December 3,1929 in Ennis, TX, to George T. Hilliard and Vera Beatrice (Jones) Hilliard.
Of all the things Jo Ann loved about her life, her family was always nearest and dearest to her heart and she cherished being a wife and a mother. She was kind and gentle and loved by everyone who knew her. For many years, Jo Ann worked in the banking industry as a bookkeeper. She loved to garden and ride around on the lawnmower on the family farm in Texas, and to work on crochet and embroidery. She spent hours over her embroidery work well into her nineties and loved to hear her optometrist say her vision was so good she could be a pilot.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 59 wonderful years, James Lewis Napper; daughter, Joanna Davis; son, David Napper and his wife, Carol; daughter-in-law, Janet Napper; brother, Walter and sister, Rosemary.
Jo Ann is survived by her children, Larry Napper and his wife Katy of Laguna Hills California, Sheila Cooper and her husband Gary of Fayetteville Arkansas, Will Napper and his former wife Helen of Richardson Texas, Paul Napper and his wife Cindy of Colorado and son-in-law Allen Davis (Joanna) of Lewisville Texas and grandchildren, Benjamin Napper (April), Andrew Napper, Stace Napper, Holly Napper, Crystal (Brion) Gaikins, James Cooper (Paige), Kimberly Cooper Ridenoure (Scott), Kristine Courtney Napper, George Napper, Chelsea Rose Napper, Cassidy Lee Napper, Allen Davis, Jr. (Melissa), Matthew Davis (Ashley) and Samantha Davis; great-grandchildren, Hailey Napper, Hugh Cooper, Luke Cooper, Regan (Graham) Langston, Cooper Ridenoure, Nate Davis, Oliver Davis, and Jordyn Gaikins.
The family will hold a private celebration to honor her life. She will be buried together with her husband, James, a Navy Seaman of WWII, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Funeral Services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Fayetteville.
