Joe Presley

Joe Presley, 79 of Huntsville passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at his home. He was born November 24, 1941 in Huntsville to Carl Arvil Presley and Muriel Helen (Sharp) Presley.

He graduated Huntsville High School in 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a rural mail carrier in Madison County for many years and a loyal supporter of the Huntsville Eagle Sports. He loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener and loved hunting morel mushrooms. Most of all he loved his family and encouraged people to “Stay Cool”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Presley and Muriel (Sharp) Gilliam; step father, Harley Gilliam; brother, H.C Gilliam and nephew, Kyle Presley.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Susan (Ramage) Presley of the home; daughters, Rebecca Presley and husband James Rockwell of Fayetteville and Karla Presley and husband Ash Phillips of Springdale; brother, Charles Presley and wife Junie of Huntsville; three grandchildren that he adored, Holden, Joey (J.R) and Hannah.

He was also blessed to have a niece, whom he loved dearly, Kellie Vanover and husband Steve of Huntsville and their children, Kody, Kayden and Katie Beth who were his pride and joy. He was lucky to have many bonus children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 2-4PM at the Huntsville First Presbyterian Church fellowship Hall. A funeral service will follow at 4PM with Rev. Brad Moore and Dan Wooley officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Huntsville Athletic Department under the “Joe Presley Fund”. Please feel free to dress casually and if you have a T-shirt with a pocket, be sure to wear it in honor of Joe.
