John Liness Wise

John Liness Wise, 84 of Elkins passed away, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born on January 6, 1942, in Bruce. Mississippi to Liness Vernon Wise and Dora Elizabeth (Crawford) Wise. He retired from the Fairfield Police Department in Fairfield, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher M. Wise and brother, Stanley Wise.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Sharon (Henderson) Wise; daughter, Karen Wise of Vacaville, CA; two brothers, David Wise of Shoco, AZ and Billy Wise of Texas; sister, Sylvia Redd of Glendale, AZ and granddaughter, Katelyn (Wise) Fisher.

A visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday, July 16, 2026, in the Chapel of Madison County Funeral Service, 4373 S. Main St., Hindsville. A funeral service will be 10AM, Friday in the Chapel with Pastor Jasper Hankins officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Buffalo Cemetery in Parthenon, Arkansas in Newton County. Funeral Services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service.
