Mary Susan Bowen

Mary Susan Bowen “ Susie” 76 of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born September 12, 1948, in Houston, Texas to Wiliam Engel and Mary Evelyn (Swift) Engel. She has dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She was the kindest person on earth with a very loving nonjudgmental heart. She was a great storyteller and an artist. She  loved using her talents especially for her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Brett Scott Robinson and Clifford Robinson; great grandson, John Luke Perry and the love of her life, James Ray Bowen.

Survivors include her son, Destry Bowen and wife Lori of South Carolina; three daughters, Jamie Luper and husband Brian of Fayetteville, Holly Dillingham and husband Andrew of Prairie Grove and Mary Rachel Bowen of Texas, brothers, Michael “Mike” Engel of Brentwood and Danial Engel of Pettigrew; first baby girl, Missy Engel; grandchildren, Cooper, Bailey, Scarlett, Bryceton, Savannah, Dawson, Hayley, Thomas, Becky, Alan, Michelle, Gavin and Hailey and her fur babies, Snowball, Bella and Hanna.

The family would like to express a special thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Fayetteville Health and Rehab. There will be a celebration of life at the Pettigrew School House on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 1:30PM. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service.
