Mary Lou Medley, 88 went to be with the lord on June 30,2022. She was born September 18,1933 with her twin sister Margaret Sue who died at birth to Roy and Verna Danley (Best) of Clifty Arkansas.
On March 5, 1952 she married Orland Dale Medley of Elkins, Arkansas. On May 16, 1952 she graduated at Huntsville State Vocational School. Mary was baptized in June of 1952 by Brother Tillis Teddlie of the Church of Christ. She was a member of the Lafayette Church of Christ in Lafayette, Georgia. She loved the Lord and aways took her children and grandchildren to church. She was described by her granddaughter as her “Grandmother who lives in Arkansas and goes to church all the time”. She was president of the PTA, a junior girl scout leader and actively supported her son and three daughters in their extracurricular school activities (Basketball, football, cheerleading, baseball) and Church camp activities. She worked at Swansons, Sunbeam, Riley’s oak hill manor as a CNA and took care of children during her life time. She attended college at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and was in chorus and took nursing classes. She lived in Baldwinsville, New York, Waco, Texas, Trenton, Georgia, and finally Lafayette Georgia.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula Jean (medley) Reichard of North Little Rock and Verna J Burgess of Clifton Park, New York; one sister Dorothy P. Gere of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a half-sister Becky (Danley) Palmer of Council Bluffs, Iowa; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
A graveside service will be 10 am Monday, July 11,2022 at Clifty Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
