Penelope Sue Greenburg

Penelope Sue Greenberg, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the early morning of December 7, 2025. She was born in Albia, Iowa to Emma and Reece Marshall. She received her bachelor’s from University of Arkansas and her PhD from Ohio State University. She loved learning and teaching, cooking and gardening, family and holidays. She spent her career as a professor at Widener University. She also taught abroad in China, Taiwan, Japan and Ethiopia. She had many passions in life including but not limited to, family, horticulture, Japanese flower arrangements, and cooking. She was a devoted Great-grandma, Grandma, mom and beloved wife, sister and daughter. She was ‘Grandma’ to family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jennepher Marshall, granddaughter Georgia Kenyon and her Husband Ralph “Lucas” Greenberg. She is survived by her siblings Ted Marshall, Pamela Marshall, Deborah Kagay, and C. R. Marshall, two daughters Dawn Marshall from Iowa City, Iowa and Heather King-Sherry from Huntsville, Arkansas, nephews Matthew Maesri and Marshall Gorski, 9 grandchildren, Michael Stanley, Katharine Stanley, David King Weeks, Sarah Smith,  Jonathan Kenyon, Frederica Kenyon, Amanda Sherry. Rebecca Sherry and Adrienne Sherry, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous other in-laws, nephews, nieces, and friends.
