Randy Paul Sturgeon

Randy Paul Sturgeon, 69, of Elkins, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at The VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  He was born December 1, 1956, in Lebanon, Oregon, to Paul Sturgeon and Carol Collier Sturgeon. 

He served in The U.S. Air Force during The Vietnam Era of the late 1970's, later working twenty-four years at The VA Hospital in Fayetteville. He loved raising his special breed of chickens, carrying on his ancestor’s traditions and dirt track and professional racing,

Randy is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Terri (Bratton) Sturgeon; his daughter, Shannon Spikes; his step-mother, Elizabeth Ann Sturgeon; his step-children: Paul and Burl Brown; his younger sisters: Sandra Sturgeon Cole, Anne Gourley, Kathy Bunch, Stephanie Olson Mollier and Barbara Henderson; his grandsons: Donovan Brown and Ezra Dyke; three great grandchildren: Jack, Kevin and Kassandra Dyke, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Randy was deeply loved by all who knew him, and he will be remembered for his easy-going smile, warmth, kindness, honesty and integrity.

A memorial service with military honors will take place at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
