Richard Dean Coleman, 74 of Huntsville, passed away late Friday evening, November 17, 2023 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 23, 1949 in Torrance, California to the late Ray Joe and Emma Lois Delancey Coleman. He was a follower and believer in Jesus Christ our Savior. After God, his family and animals were the most important things to him. He was a big softie with an even bigger heart and taught them it is ok to cry. He taught them everything they needed to know about hunting, fishing, and cars. He had a natural gift for mechanics and enjoyed restorations, especially VW’s and his favorite 1959 Ford Fairlane retractable with his dad. When he wasn’t loving on his family and animals, he was watching his favorite tv shows. He would end a phone call for Perry Mason. He was one of the first five paramedics in the state of California. The director of the tv show “Emergency” rode in his ambulance for ideas. He was also a faith fighter with a strong will to live. He would always say the only two things he never had was Aids and anthrax, but he survived everything else including cancer and multiple major surgeries. He lived enough for ten lives in just one. He left an eternal handprint on the hearts of many.
He is survived by his wife, his “angel” of 37 years, Laura Coleman of Huntsville; children Marcus Coleman Sr. of Huntsville, Courtney (Ryan) Chisholm of Seligman, Missouri, Jared Dean (Amy) Coleman of Paradise, California, Amber Coleman of Buena Park, California, Wendi Hines of Star, Idaho, Teresa (Peter) Short of Rossmoor, California, Dawn (Steve) Witt of Menifee, California, and Sherri Noffsinger of Glenns Ferry, Idaho; grandchildren Sonny, Trinity, Marcus Jr., Austin, Ivy, Jocelyn, Bryson, Charlotte, Kloey, Jaymirae, Tate, Cassandra, Bryan, Kristy, Tawni, Tiffani, Trisha, Caleb, Noah, Jared, Leah, Bridget, Briana, Melissa, and Alexa; two great-great grandchildren, Daniel and Thomas Dean; one sister, Sharon (Jim) Hill of Henderson, Nevada; and one nephew, Eric Hill of Henderson, Nevada.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
