Ruby Faye Wood, 80 of Combs, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at her home. She was born April 20, 1946, in Swain, Arkansas to Clay Watson and May (Young) Watson.
She accepted Christ into her life at the age of 19 and her biggest passion was her love for Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years, Joe Wood and brother, Hartsel Watson.
Survivors include her children, Kenena Pelfrey and husband Doug of Combs, Yolanda Mahan and husband Aaron of Fayetteville, Joel Wood of Clarksville and Travis Wood and wife Shannon of Patrick; sister, Lorene Clark of Winslow; seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many other family members including her church family.
The family will receive friends from 2-4PM, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Crosses Community Church in Crosses, AR. A funeral service will be held 10AM, Monday at the church with Pastor Rex Eaton, Les McGaugh and Associate Pastor Aaron Mahan officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Cave Mountain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Colby Boen, Austin Skaggs, Brandon Wood, Colton Cantrell, Dawson Rainey and Haden Mahan. Honorary Pallbearers: Ryan Wood, Zachary Wood, Derrick Pelfrey, Justin Pelfrey and Jared Pelfrey.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Gideons International, for the purchase of Bibles
Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service.
