Slade Bailey McDowell

Slade Bailey McDowell, 23, passed away August 25, 2023 at Siloam Springs Kayak Park in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.  He was born October 25, 1999 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Keith McDowell and Rachael (Keck) Parrish.  Slade was best described as a free spirit. He loved his family. He lit up every room he entered. He was passionate and loyal with a big heart.  He was a hard worker and tried to help anyone he met. Slade was loved by all. He loved the water and outdoors. 

Slade was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents Charlie and Theresa Foster of Lincoln; maternal great grandfather Nolan Keck of Rogers; maternal great great aunt Jane Turner of Elkins; maternal great aunt Sharon Drain of Lincoln; paternal great grandfather James Ashworth of West Fork; paternal aunt Holly Haley of Brentwood; paternal aunt Sue Smith of Fayetteville; and niece Jordan Lin and nephew Jesse Lee Hamilton of Fayetteville.

Slade is survived by his mother and stepfather, Rachael and Travis Parrish of Fayetteville; his father, Keith McDowell and life partner Kelly McDonald of West Fork; his maternal great grandmother Georgia Brown of Elkins; his maternal grandparents Roger and Nancy Keck of Fayetteville; his paternal grandmother Joy McDowell of Greenland; paternal step grandparents Louis and “Pete” Hester of Brentwood; his great aunt and uncle Susan and Leslie Anderson of Little Rock; his brother, Skylar McDowell of Pensacola, Florida; his sisters Alexia McDowell, Aquarius McDowell, and Hope Keck of Fayetteville; his sisters Paige Keck and Lilly Keck of West Fork; his niece, Abigail Hamilton of Fayetteville; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 3-5 P.M. at Fayetteville Church of God, 631 N. Mission Blvd.  The funeral service will follow at 5 P.M. with Pastor David Abbott and Michael Mezes officiating.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville. 

Pallbearers will be Joel Mendonca, Austin McDowell, Lenny Davis, Wesley Smith, Jasper Mendonca, and Alec McDowell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jameson Johnson and Hunter Portwood.
