Verlin Ray Chaffin

Verlin Ray Chaffin, 66 of Elkins passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born October 29, 1956 in Fayetteville to Ellis Chaffin and Ruby (Barker) Chaffin. He loved being outdoors and activities including hunting, fishing, gardening just to name a few.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Clayton Chaffin and Henry Dean Chaffin and one sister, Nita Faye Chaffin.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vicky Chaffin of the home; two children, Tommy Chaffin and wife Amanda and Cheryl Marsh and husband Justin both of Elkins; two sisters, Marcella Tucker and husband Tommy of Huntsville and Mary Chaffin of Elkins; four grandchildren, Tyra Marsh, Austin Marsh, Payton Marsh and Madison Chaffin as well as many other family members and friends.

A viewing will be at the graveside from 12pm-1pm Monday, May 1, 2023 and a graveside service will follow at 1PM with Brandon Gabbard officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery near Winslow.

Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
