Alan Stuart Gates, 78 of Huntsville passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at his home. He was born April 13, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ewin Gates and Margaret McWinnie-Gates. He was proud to be a volunteer with Witter / Aurora Fire Dept. He spent much of his time volunteering at the SDA food bank. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Gates-Salveson.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-six and half years, Cheryll Powell-Gates; his brother Robert Gates of Denver and his wife Genieve Gates; and several nieces and nephews; four daughters, Margaret Gates-Krause, Mary Gates-London, Yvette Cordray-Alley and Jenee` Cordray-Centeno; son, Michael Gates; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 7:00 P.M. At the Witter/Aurora Fire Station.
