Our family wishes to express our gratitude to Mr. Doug Rabold and the staff of Madison County Funeral Service. Losing our family member was not easy, but Mr. Rabold and staff proved to be very kind, patient and understanding. We did not choose to use Madison County Funeral based on price, but, rather, based on the answers to a question we asked of several funeral services about five years ago. We simply found Mr. Rabold's response to be more in alignment with our way of thinking. The deputy coroner, Mr. David Duncan, was the one who came to the nursing home to pick up Dad's body. No one could have been kinder. No one could have been more patient. He treated Dad's remains with respect .We have only one regret, and that is our fault. Dad had a massive pressure sore. The smell was overwhelming.. We were concerned that the odor could not be masked. Mr. Rabold assured us that he could take care of that problem, but we were so afraid that the horrible odor would be noticed that we opted for private, outdoor services. Mr. Rabold was right; he knew how to handle the problem. We wish now that we had trusted his judgment and expertise. Madison County Funeral Service has some very well-informed and compassionate people. We are forever grateful for their help. Dad was wearing his clothes, his favorite boots, holding the last cap my brother bought him and with a special picture tucked in his shirt. Dad was fully dressed, just as we requested. Thank you, Doug and staff. You all are simply nice folks.
