Freda Partain Obituary

Mrs. Freda Lorene (Shadrick) Partain, 75, of Fayetteville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was born on January 13, 1949, in Dumas, Arkansas to Otis and Viola (Abbott) Shadrick. Freda was a special soul that touched many people, sharing her love of God and life. She was known as Mrs. Freda to the many students who rode her bus throughout the years with Greenland School District. She loved to sew and quilt and was always ready to go to a few yard sales. She was passionate about God and loved singing at church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers: Alvin Shadrick, Arzell Shadrick, Arlene Shadrick, Eugene Shadrick, Lester Shadrick and two unnamed babies; three sisters: Sylvie Reed, Imogene Merrell and Allene Nice: one great grandson: Bryce Matthew.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Matthew (Bud) Partain of the home; one sister: Lillie Hipps of Fayetteville, one sister-in-love: Nonie Shadrick of Fayetteville; three sons: Matt Partain and wife Traci of Fayetteville, Tim Partain and wife Donna of Elkins, Stephen Partain and wife Julie of Winslow; four daughters: Sheila Shackelford of Elkins, Jamie Pelfrey and husband Jeff of Elkins, Crystal Roark and husband Travis of Bella Vista, and Amanda Selvey and husband Jeremy of Fayetteville. 36 grandkids and 32 great grandkids, numerous nephews and nieces, and her in love Arizona family.

Pallbearers: Zach Partain, Andrew Partain, Cody Shackelford, Colten Pelfrey, Jared Holt, Brady Cooley, and JR Selvey.

The family will receive friends at Living Faith Church on Sunday, April 28th, 4:00 - 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Living Faith Church on Monday, April 29th, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Baptist Ford.

Pastor Randy Osburn, of Mount Salem will be officiating all services.

The services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Services of Huntsville.
