Kathleen Glisson Smith was born on July 18, 1934 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Enos and Dovie
Glisson. She became an angel and was returned to her heavenly father on January 17, 2023 at the age of 88. Kathleen grew up in Fayetteville. She met Lawrence Smith and became his bride on December 8, 1951. Kathleen is survived by one daughter, Darlene Smith of Elkins, Arkansas, one daughter in law Charlene Smith of Elkins, one grandson Taylor Dean Smith of Elkins, Arkansas, one granddaughter Jilene Christensen and husband Roger of Farmington, Minnesota, and one great granddaughter Aryanna Smith of Centerton, Arkansas, and 4 great grandsons. Chase Boyer of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Nathan Christensen, Devan Christensen, and Ryan Smith all of Farmington, Minnesota. Three brothers Bo Glisson (Pat) of Elkins, Arkansas, Bob Glisson (Earlene) of Farmington, Arkansas and Mike Glisson (Patricia) of Bentonville, Arkansas. Two sisters Jo Ellen Frederick (Dennis) of Elkins,Arkansas, Sue Gooding (Johnny) of Fayetteville, three sisters in love Anna Glisson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Thelma Glisson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Becky Glisson Nelson of Sonora, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Enos and Dovie Glisson, husband Lawrence Smith, son Larry Dean Smith, grandsons Shane Smith and Billy Lawrence Smith, 4 brothers EJ Glisson, Billy Glisson, Eddie Glisson, Tommy Glisson, and two sisters Wilma Peterson and Sheila Glisson.
Kathleen was a good Christian woman, and was a member of Crystal Hills Family Fellowship.
She was married to the love of her life, Lawrence Smith, for 69 wonderful years and became an
integral part of the Smith family. She became a close friend to her sister in love Linda Van
Brunt, and a beloved sister in law to Lawrences brothers, Alvin and Jerry Don. Twenty of those
68 years were spent living in Wichita, Kansas where she had both of her children. They moved to
Elkins, Arkansas in 1973. They opened the Hitchin' Post Flea Market and which later turned into
the Hitchin' Post Feed Store and lastly turned into the Blue Moon Restaurant. Kathleen and
Lawrence loved to travel and never missed a Turkey Track Bluegrass Festival. She also enjoyed
square dancing, crafting, crocheting, and genealogy. She worked outside the home occasionally
but preferred to be a homemaker. Many of her friends and family can tell you that she was an amazing cook. Kathleen loved many and was greatly loved by more.
